Foraging plays a vital role in Chicken's health, helping their behaviours and also their egg production. Use this seed mix to produce a year-round gourmet selection of nutritious greens for your chickens and other poultry.

Grow the forage greens in the chicken run or plant in the garden for easy-to-harvest treats! The Dine, a Chook Salad Bar, can also be grown in pots or trays and placed in the chook pen as needed. Typical contents:

Barrel medic, bok choy, buckwheat, chicory, clover, cocksfoot, linseed, lucerne, millet, forage plantain, silverbeet, subclover and sunflower.

Sowing advice

- Temperate areas: March-May or August-October

- Sub-tropics: August-September or May-July

- Tropics: April-August

Sow in seedling trays (1-2g/tray) or broadcast directly onto prepared soil in the forage area (2-3 g/1 m2). Protection should be provided until plants are well-established, and after grazing to allow plants to re-shoot.

Store in a cool, dry location. Best sown before September 2019.
