Unique Patented Design Features:

We design, engineer and manufacture all our Poultry Feeders in Australia. We use quality ASA plastic, which is made for years of durability under the Aussie sun.

As the inventors of the Dine a Chook tube-style feeder, we have implemented unique, ground-breaking features which literally stop feed waste. When you have a large flock, feed costs serious money. If you currently have a treadle feeder, trough or bell feeder, then you know how quickly feed can become soiled with mud, dirt and chook poop. Our revolutionary system stops the contamination of feed.

Also, chickens naturally rake and thrash their feed when eating from a trough or treadle feeder. Once feed is on the ground, it becomes contaminated and wasted. Our unique vertical and horizontal paddle system keeps feed in the feed bay. So not only will a Dine a Chook save you from contaminated feed, it also stops feed from ending up on the ground. Additionally, by not having feed on the ground you help eliminate rats, mice and vermin from the coop as spilled feed is the number one attractant for pests in chicken coops.

The other great benefit in our design is the patented rain hood & gutter system. You can now rest easy when it rains, as the feed won't get wet except in horizontal rain.

To make the most of a Dine a Chook system, we recommend a pellet or mash feed to prevent selective feeding behaviour. Scratch mix, in any case, is not optimal for chickens as they only eat what they want and miss out on important vitamins and minerals.  Chickens quickly develop fussy selective feeding habits when you give them scratch feed. Pellet and mash gives them no choice, meaning better health, fewer deficiencies and less feed waste.

Our tube-style feeders are easy to install. Use the complimentary Mounting Kit for timber and metal coops. If you have a wire-mesh chicken coop, we have Wire Mesh Mounting Kits available here.

Patented Rain and Gutter System:

While some have tried to copy the concept of our Rainhood and Gutter System, the fact is that Dine a Chook has the best patented Rain and Gutter System. It works. It keeps your poultry feed from getting wet. Designed initially for the tropical rainfall of North Queensland, the Dine a Chook Rain and Gutter System keeps your feed dry even in the most torrential downpours. So regardless of weather conditions, you can count on Dine a Chook Chicken Feeders to keep the rain out.

Rodent and Wildlife Resistant:

Rodents are attracted to easy food. But the Dine a Chook Feeder ensures there is no wasted feed on the ground to attract pests. Together with good coop design and management, a Dine a Chook Chicken Feeder can help make your coop less attractive to rats, mice and even pest birds.

The Dine a Chook Automatic Chicken Feeder saves money by ensuring feed is staying in the feeder, not being wasted on the floor.

Benefits of a Dine a Chook Feeder over a Hanging Feeder or Treadle Feeder

Hanging Feed Units: Hanging Feeders tend to spill a lot of feed, attracting rats, mice and pest birds. Plus, rats are incredibly intelligent. Hanging Feeders are not entirely rat-proof. In the case of a Hanging Feeder, it won't take rats long to realise they can climb down the chain to get to the feed. Also, many Hanging Feed Units fail to address the rain, meaning feed gets wet and is wasted.

Treadle Feeders: These are also not immune to rats. Working as a team, rats learn to stand on the step to open the feeder and access the feed. Treadle Feeding Units are also not ideal for poor weather: when a chicken opens the lid, rain wets the feed. Treadle feeders also use hinges, springs and other mechanisms that require maintaining. Dine a Chook Chicken Feeders have no moving parts. This gives you complete confidence in constant reliability for years.

In reality, regardless of advertising or marketing claims, there is no 100% Rat Proof Feeder. Keeping the coop clean and tidy, with no feed on the floor, and dealing with any signs of rodents promptly, is the only way to prevent rat problems in the chicken coop.

Quick, Easy, No Fuss Installation:

Install your Dine a Chook Automatic Feeder in minutes. The supplied Mounting Kit allows you to fit your Feeder onto timber or colorbond. Do you have a wire-mesh coop? Mounting Kits for wire-mesh are available here.
