Are insect pests a problem in your house? Don’t waste hundreds of dollars hiring a pest control service. Controlling pests is easy with Bayer Coopex Residual Insecticide. Coopex is a water-soluble powder that can be applied as a spray to a variety of surfaces both indoors and outdoors, providing protection against insect pests. It is easy to use and works for up to 4 months.
Coopex spray contains permethrin, a low-toxicity insecticide. Use to combat:
- Ants
- Cockroaches
- Fleas
- Spiders
- Mosquitoes
- Silverfish
- The larvae of most flying and crawling insects, including pantry moths
- Lice
- Mites
- Ticks
- And other common insect pests
Is Coopex safe to use around my chickens?
Do not spray Coopex residual insecticide onto chickens, or onto their feed or bedding. However, it is an excellent mite and lice treatment for infestations in the chicken coop. Clear the coop and treat with Coopex, replacing the bedding when the spray has dried. Repeat as needed to prevent future infestations.
Why use a residual spray?
Non-residual insecticides, like most common bug sprays, only kill insects that they have direct contact with, working for a very short time. They might be useful if you happen to see a cockroach, but they cannot combat infestations or prevent them in the first place. For this, you need a residual insecticide.
Residual insecticides work over a longer period of time, killing any insects that they come into contact with. They work to combat insect infestations by interrupting the breeding cycle, or by preventing insects from entering the home.
Although the duration of a residual insecticide will depend on a variety of conditions such as exposure, strength and the surface to which it is applied, they last much longer than a non-residual insecticide.
Bayer Coopex is a safe and effective residual insecticide. It is not absorbed into porous surfaces, and is less hazardous than many other options, having low absorption by mammals. We recommend Coopex as one of the best mite and lice treatments for chicken coops.

How to use Coopex Insecticide Powder
Mix Coopex insecticide powder with water and apply as a spray to all surfaces inspects may contact. Apply to places where insects are, or in cracks and nooks where they may nest.
Prepare Coopex using the following ratios:
- For severe infestations, or as an initial treatment: 25g : 2.5L water
- To prevent insects: 25g : 5L water
- For mosquitoes and flies: 25g : 10L water
1 Litre of Coopex mixture will treat up to 40m2 when applied using a knapsack sprayer or spray bottle. It is suitable for use on a variety of surfaces, including glass, wood and metal. Test the spray on a small area first, leaving for 2-3 hours.
Permethrin, the active ingredient in Coopex Insecticide Powder, is exceptionally toxic to cats and should not be used in their vicinity. Never spray Insecticide onto animals without the advice of a vet, nor onto feed or bedding.
Permethrin is also toxic to fish and aquatic life. It should never be used in an area exposed to rain, or where run-off could carry the chemical into waterways. As permethrin is very stable, its effects endure in both water and soil, so should only be used on or in man-made structures which are sheltered from the elements.
Do not ingest Coopex. If it is ingested, or if irritation occurs on exposure, a doctor or poison control hotline should be contacted immediately.
