How to Mount a Chicken Feeder on to Wire Mesh

Mounting Dine-A-Chook Chicken Feeders and Drinkers on wire mesh is very common. Rather than cutting the wire, the Dine-A-Chook Wire Mesh Mounting Kit. make it so easy. As matter of fact you could get this simple job done in a matter of minutes. This kit will enable you to clamp the supplied metal bracket to the mesh. Reviewing the photos and instructions below will enable you to set this up correctly.

IMPORTANT: Dine-A-Chook Feeders and Drinkers must be mounted using the supplied mounting brackets. Hanging Feeders and Drinkers directly onto wire mesh by the rear mounting hooks without using the steel brackets supplied is a breach of warranty conditions.

Wire Mesh Mounting

All Dine-A-Chook Feeders and Drinkers come with a complementary Mounting Kit. For wire mesh installation, we recommend the additional purchase of a Wire Mesh Mounting Kit.

To install your Feeder or Drinker unit, you will need:

1 x Complementary Dine-A-Chook Mounting Kit (2 steel brackets + 4 screws)

1 x Dine-A-Chook Wire Mesh Mounting Kit (4 bolts, 4 washers + 4 nuts)You may need pliers and/or a shifter to tighten the nuts. An additional person to help is also handy.

Steps to install a Dine-A-Chook Feeder or Drinker on wire mesh:

  1. Determine the correct height for the Feeder or Drinker unit

  2. Slip a steel bracket onto the top mounting hook
  3. Hold the unit against the wire mesh at the correct height
  4. Slip a bolt through the bracket and mesh, ensuring it is resting on a horizontal wire
  5. Slip a washer and nut onto the back of the bolt and tighten loosely
  6. Repeat on the other side of the bracket and then tighten both sides evenly

  7. Hang the unit from the top bracket
  8. Slip the second bracket onto the bottom mounting hook, ensuring it is snug at the top so that weight is distributed equally between both bracket
  9. Slip a bolt through the bracket and mesh, ensuring it is resting on a horizontal wire
  10. Slip a washer and nut onto the back of the bolt and tighten loosely
  11. Repeat on the other side and then tighten both sides evenly
  12. Hang your Feeder or Drinker unit and check that weight is evenly distributed between the mounting hooks

How to mount a chicken feeder to wire mesh

Always monitor your flock carefully after installing a new Feeder or Drinker to ensure that all birds are able to comfortably reach the feed and water.
